VISIONS DU REEL INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL
A new film by the ethnography documentarist Pedro González-Rubio ("Alamar")
"Icaros", is modern man’s spiritual quest through the relation he establishes with a place faraway from his native Catalunya. Having escaped military service, Marcel has been living for 30 years in Costa Rica’s jungle where he practices Ayahuasca rituals in the company of young travellers.
Renouncing any conventional approach or rhetoric, "Icaros" offers a ludic vision of this sensorial trip and engages the spectator to a parallel universe created like a role playing game, where the jungle is a dreamy landscape with mythological characters.
2015, 53 minutes, in Spanish and English with English subtitles.
