VISIONS DU REEL INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL
RIVIERA MAYA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
A new film by the ethnographic documentarian Pedro González-Rubio ("Alamar")
Icaros is a modern man’s spiritual quest through a place, faraway from his native Catalunya, where establishes a deep relation. Having escaped military service 30 years ago, Marcel has been living a Costa Rican jungle where he practices Ayahuasca rituals in the company of young travelers often searching for a mystical experience.
Renouncing any conventional approach or rhetoric, Icaros offers a ludic vision of this sensorial trip and engages the spectator to a parallel universe, where the jungle is a dreamy landscape with mythological characters.
2015, 53 minutes, in Spanish and English with English subtitles.
